Unexpected gift

So last Friday was my birthday, unexpectedly it was a holiday so I got a loooong weekend (yay!). And since it was day off no obligation for me to bring cake to the office. Over the past years I’ve invited friends to dinner, so for them it’s a tradition, and of course they expect me to keep it. But not this year, buddy. To my colleagues from previous office I told him it’s no longer a tradition anymore. I wish I could, but I got other obligations and allocate my finance for that.

And to my closest friends I kept it, but slightly did it differently. I usually go for a jog at the beach on holidays, so I thought wouldn’t be cool to have friends join, I could jog, they could swim or simply hang out at the beach and later have breakfast.

So I had my jog at 6.45, from 66 up to Lalu, and then went back. I was glad they showed up in time, two kept yawning, but didn’t complain. Had good chat while watching the beach and delicious burrito breakfast and fresh fruits. It was an excellent birthday morning. We were tempted to continue our breakfast bash to lunch, but it was getting hot and muggy and I decided I needed to go home and clean up. Though I brought change, but if felt quite icky.

So all in all it’s a good change from an old tradition. Healthy too! Maybe next year we can have whole day bash? ☺
